The first, reported by Luke , is at the origin of the vocation of the apostles Peter , James and John , who abandon their nets and follow Christ and become 'fishermen of men'.
The second, related by John , is related to a manifestation of the risen Jesus to the same group of fishermen, confirming by a meal together the physical aspect of his resurrection and the universal character of the mission entrusted to them (153 fish in the nets). Jean does not present the event as a 'miracle'.
The custom is that under the name of 'miraculous catch', religious texts more usually evoke the first event, considered a miracle , which happens before the Passion of Jesus .
