Admiral Dahlgren on Pawnee, Mathew Brady

Rear Admiral John A. Dahlgren (father) Ulric Dahlgren (April 3, 1842 – March 2, 1864) was a colonel in the Union Army during the American Civil War . In 1864, he led an unsuccessful raid on Richmond, Virginia and was killed.

Mathew B. Brady (May 18, 1822 – January 15, 1896) was one of the earliest photographers in American history. Best known for his scenes of the Civil War, he studied under inventor Samuel F. B. Morse, who pioneered the daguerreotype technique in America.
